We work with upcycled brass as our base material, carefully dipped in gold and coated with a special anti-tarnish finish to ensure lasting shine. Surface irregularities and imperfections are embraced as part of our raw, rustic aesthetic. These marks are not flaws, but the quiet beauty of the process itself—a celebration of the imperfect, the handmade, and the human.

Leather Care: Your NIIRA Kolhapuri Chappals are crafted from premium, natural leather that develops a beautiful patina over time. To maintain their quality:

• Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after each wear to remove dust
• For deeper cleaning, use a damp cloth with mild soap, then air dry naturally
• Apply leather conditioner every few weeks to keep the leather supple
• Avoid prolonged exposure to water, direct sunlight, or extreme heat

Storage:

• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
• Use shoe trees or stuff with paper to maintain shape
• Keep in a breathable cloth bag to prevent moisture buildup

Breaking In: Handcrafted leather softens and molds to your feet over time. Initial stiffness is normal and will ease with wear, creating a custom fit unique to you.

Natural Variations: As each pair is hand-painted and handcrafted by artisans, slight color variations and natural leather markings are part of the authentic character, not defects.

Repairs: Quality leather can be resoled and repaired. Contact us for artisan repair services to extend the life of your chappals.

1. Exchanges

Exchanges for size-related issues are available and must be processed through the Exchange Portal on our website. Exchange requests made outside the portal (e.g. via email or WhatsApp) will not be accepted.

The first exchange per product is free of cost. Any subsequent exchange on the same product will be chargeable at a fixed fee of INR 300 per exchange.

Select products may not be eligible for exchange; eligibility will be indicated on the product page.

2. Returns 

Returns are not available for our products, except in the case of a manufacturing defect.

As part of your request, you will need to provide a picture of the product clearly highlighting the defect. You will then be required to ship the product back to us. Once we receive the original product, our team will conduct an internal quality investigation. A return will be accepted and a refund initiated only after this investigation confirms the defect. This process may take up to 15 days from the date we receive the product.
